Welcome and thank you for taking a look at Infinite Pro Wrestling! In this thread is a brief introduction into how things will be run here in IPW, some FAQ’s, and anything else that comes to mind when I’m writing this.
Infinite Pro Wrestling came to be as a small pet project of mine when I left the admin team of Next Level Wrestling, looking to create more with what I’ve made canon to my characters and turn it into something new. Infinite Pro Wrestling was made for those who are wanting to roleplay, wanting to tell their own stories, wanting to scratch that itch of writing but just cannot make the time to put out 2K or above promos every week or two. With how things have been and people have been getting busier, this is the place for YOU to be in — or even for those who are brand new and would like to make a start in writing, this is the place for you to be a part of.
As for how shows are to be run during our time, summarised results will take up the weekly shows whilst full written matches will be for the pay per views. Segments are (hopefully) a must for IPW, this is how we create your stories through the show's cycles. It’s pretty much like how things were run in NLW—but with a twist.
Feuds will be set up by myself — or if you would want to work with a certain someone, you’re more than welcome to do so and talk to me about it — and we’ll work together to make sure that through every show, each feud will have its build and be given a build worth talking about. Being able to tell a story with one another, working together, and bringing people together to work on stories is a key feature to Infinite Pro Wrestling and something that I’m proud to hopefully make good work on because this isn’t just about me giving you the good shows that you all deserve, this is about all of us creating a good show for everyone to enjoy.
My main focus is to tell great stories, bring communities/people together, and make a calm and collected vibe throughout all contact made with one another. This project is something heavily thought about for a while now and trying to decide when is the right time to create this was going to be — I’ve decided that today is that day, and I want to create a great environment for everyone to feel welcomed into.
So now you’re all introduced, let’s go into the FAQ’s which should give you the full rundown of what we do here:
Q: How often do you run shows?
A: Shows are bi-weekly, and will be on a Sunday.
Q: What are the show deadlines?
A: RP’s will be due by the Friday night at 19:00 EST / 00:00 GMT (Or BST, that damn British time that you all hate *grumles grumbles*). Segments for the show have a further 24 hours. All deadlines will be stated on each card for clarity.
Q: What are the RP Limits?
A: To fit the micro-fed requirements, RPs will be 1 RP x 1000 words for weekly shows. For pay per views, it’ll be 2 RPs x 1000 words. If it ever comes down to the fact that you’d want a shorter (or even longer limit, but why would you do that?) then you can ask me and your opponents within the two days of the show’s card going up.
Q: Do RP limits change for tag teams or multi man matches?
A: Generally it will be one roleplay per character, so a tag match would have two roleplays each team (one from each team member, unless otherwise stated on the card). However if it’s felt that this is too much, handlers are welcome to discuss with the admin team about lowering the bar.
Q: How many characters can I have?
A: Here in Infinite Pro Wrestling, we're only allowing two characters of your own that can be put into the roster. Of course, there can be "ways" around this. That being adding a solo-ran Tag Team and a Singles wrestler.
Q: Are these singles only?
A: No, tag teams are as encouraged as singles and there is a tag application available. At some point in the near future (as of this writing), we will be soon introducing some Tag Team Championships.
Q: How will communications be sent out?
A: Big announcements will be posted on this section of the board. We are part of our own Infinite Pro Wrestling Discord: HERE, and have our own chat room on there where most of the day to day reminders, discussions etc will be. If you don’t want to be a part of that, that’s totally cool, we can always have discussions with you via the inbox on this board or on Discord.
Q: Who is the Admin team?
A: As of this writing, it’s myself (Mav), Spike Kane, and Jack Diamond a part of the IPW admin team. I, personally, have a handful of experience when it comes to staffing – as you’ve probably seen within Anonymous Xtreme Wrestling and Next Level Wrestling – and have years of experience as a writer, so I am definitely not new to this. Spike Kane and Jack Diamond has been writing for years, and I do mean years, and they also have years of experiences when it comes to being staff members.
If there’s anything else in this piece you wish to ask, feel free to message me via the board, or via Discord.
