“A bird must always learn to leave the nest so that it may start its own story.”
The quote echoed in Hanzo’s brain, constantly replaying itself with each push-up on the yoga mat beneath him. Daisuke had taught him much in the short span that they had worked together but probably also had Daigo to thank on top of it, or Kaz as he still knew him by. How time had flown…changed even ever since they went their separate ways in the industry. There was a lot to process with what those two were up to, but ultimately Hanzo knew he could no longer fall back on them for they had their goals already set and aiming to complete.
With one final push from the floor, the masked talent brought himself up to his knees, sitting back on his heels as a long winded sigh fell from his lips.
Hanzo: “Many years have passed since I took the first step on this seemingly never ending journey and I’ll admit…I’ve had my moments of looking back and following the path back home to give up on this pursuit, finding it at times more wanting than I anticipated but in there lies a certain charm to it.”
He quietly chuckles to himself.
Hanzo: “The charm in seeing those who first helped me lay claim to my wings are succeeding in their own ways now, and I’ve still a long way to go before I can match up to them. I’ve been stalling long enough in this flight and now…it’s about time I begin making my mark in this industry. Daisuke would want me to do so, and Kaz…much as he’s aligned himself with a darker faction, I know in his heart he would want me to do the same.”
Hanzo clenches a hand into a fist before his chest.
Hanzo: “The time for being idle is over and it’s time for the little bird I’ve been to at last spread its wings and take its first real flight into the chaotic skies. There is no longer time to be afraid, to be doubtful, to be intimidated…the only way I’ll achieve my dream is by continuing to push forward. Take a knock, be beaten bloody, be made to scream from the pain I’m put through in the ring….I cannot, will not, let it deter me this time around.”
The Eagle huffs out a laugh.
Hanzo: “I sound like every youngster in this business whenever they begin their foray into the wrestling world, and sure, people will tell me that at my age I’ve only a few years left to be in prime condition to battle against the best but if there’s one thing I’ve learned from my sensei, from Daisuke…it’s the old saying of ‘better late than never’, one you all should remember from my talk with Luis on Adrenaline, and Infinite Pro is the place I plan to make it a reality, by winning the inaugural Royal Crown Rumble.”
The luchador brings himself up to his feet, hands on his hips as he stares back at the camera.
Hanzo: “I’ll admit, I’m definitely one of the biggest underdogs going into that match considering the other talents involved. I’ve barely anything to my name, much less a title or accomplishment, but at the same time, that is my greatest weapon. No one truly knows me, what I’m capable of, what makes me someone who is the dark horse going into the Rumble. How can you hope to fight against someone when you hardly know anything about them? Their strengths, weaknesses, what they excel in, what they lack in…it’s something no one has bothered to do with me because in their eyes, I’m nothing but a guy from Mexico who’s trying to get a foot in the door but to their own egocentric needs, they’re blind to realize that I already have both feet past the doorway.”
Hanzo adjusts his mask for a moment, ensuring it’s still on snug.
Hanzo: “I’m not having another door slammed in my face, not after the dry ass spell that was J-ROK and I’ll be damned if I let history like that repeat itself all because I wasn’t deemed worthy enough in the bunch to be kept around. Now…now I’m in a land rich with opportunity and by god I want to harvest it all. To see such a prize at the top of the mountain and having to be the one to push all the others off in order to get it…it’s a challenge I will gladly take on. If I am to truly fly, I must first learn to crawl, then to walk, run, and then….then I can finally achieve that dream I set out to chase all those years ago…and I’ll make its nest at the end of Royal Crown, where the real story of Hanzo Aguilar shall finally become known to all and everything that I’ve had to go through with all the lulls and dry spells that put me at the brink of giving up.”
He shakes his head.
Hanzo: “To end before I even properly begin would be a dishonor to Daisuke and Kaz, to mother and father, and a dishonor to myself. To have a proper start would show them the fruits of their constant support and belief in me to make myself a worthy name in the business…and that is something I aim to make reality. Royal Crown….will be the place to start…and where I can finally begin my ascent, whether it be slow or quick, I will not let myself go out quietly in the Rumble. By the end of that night, people will know that Hanzo Aguilar has truly arrived in Infinite Pro Wrestling…and that is nothing but a fact.”
