Your Savior Complex Is Showing
Versus C | God Amongst Men | RP #1
God Amongst Men looms near and as it does, Infinite Pro Wrestling continues to grow under my rule and that is no coincidence. Another step in its evolution is signaled by the creation of a new brand along as more eyes are drawn to watching. I had promised at the very beginning of my reign that I would lead this promotion to unimaginable heights. Though as per usual, someone that is unworthy of this title dares to threaten my progress.
Would you like to know something, C? I can't tell if I like you or find you boring.
It seems that despite that little humble persona of yours, you are a very ambitious person. Your first match here in Infinite Pro was for the APEX Next Level Championship, a dead title from a dead promotion. And on the exact same night, you waltzed up to me and basically declared yourself my next challenger.
I'll admit, I was amused by your audacity- so I kept an eye on you. Suffice to say when we shared the ring at Adrenaline XI? I was a bit disappointed. You couldn't keep up with me and you inadvertently ended up being JUDITH got predictably distracted. You seemed to me at the time to be just another bright-eyed, naive rookie with unrealistic expectations. It was almost kind of adorable- It even reminded me a bit of myself at one point in time.
But then I paid close attention to your words leading up to your match against Aguilar, and I realized- you're not only naive, but you're also conceited. Proudly stating how you “won't stoop to the levels of the rest of us” as if you're some sort of hero that's come to save Infinite Pro.
You haven't even been wrestling for a year, who the HELL do you think are?
I don't buy this beacon-of-hope persona of yours. It reeks of insincerity and a large ego, if that wasn't evident enough by you calling yourself “He Who Shall Make Things Right”. You present yourself to the audience as some sympathetic underdog, fighting an uphill battle to make a change. When in reality, you seem very accustomed to being coddled and given what you want. After all, what have you done to deserve this shot at MY World Championship? What makes you more deserving of this match than Cross Recoba at the moment? You didn't win a contendership match, you didn't win the briefcase that someone else currently holds- You, for some reason, think you were entitled to this just because it's something you desire.
News flash, sweetheart: Everyone wants a shot at my throne- and you're soon going to fall in line like them.
This self-indulgent idea that you're on a noble crusade to purify wrestling is laughable. Do you really think that your pseudo-pacifistic nonsense means anything in a sport that is ABOUT violence and fierce competition? Professional wrestling is not some safe space where everyone will hold hands and give each other a golden sticker for their efforts.
In my very first title defense, I was put through multiple panels of glass and spiked a man's head into the mat with my boot so hard that his jaw is STILL wired shut while covered in my blood and his. I survived that match because I did what was necessary, I held nothing back, and I never second-guessed myself.
Meanwhile, you're so worried about mercy and what's morally acceptable. And yet you think you're ready to be a World Champion?
Don't make me laugh!
You lack the conviction that I have, the killer instinct that has kept me at the top of the food chain for soon-to-be 133 days and counting. The difference between you and I is that you would have hesitated and lost if you were put in a similar position. Your delusions of grandeur and dedication to playing the white knight hold you back.
And that is what annoys me about you, C. I saw glimpses of true potential in you, I saw flashes of a possible prodigy in the making when we fought- but you aren't willing to go the distance. You're scared of getting your hands dirty, of compromising your pretentious conscience- and maybe that has worked for you back against the competition you faced in APEX- But it won't work against me.
Not a single person in this company has pinned or submitted. Not a single person has even come CLOSE to beating me for this title. Do you know why, C? It's because none of them can handle the responsibility of being a World Champion. None of them can handle competing at the high level that I do- and neither can you.
Not yet, at least.
You only have one chance and you better make it count, so give me your best. Enough of your tirades about ethics, enough of thinking you're special and an exception. Fight me like your life depends on it, show me that you're more than what I think you are. Prove that you're willing to do whatever you have to, that you're able to survive here. Give me a reason to believe that you belong in the same ring as me…
Or don't bother showing up.
Either you'll earn my respect or you'll end up humiliated when your philosophy doesn't hold up against me, but neither of those outcomes ends with you leaving this match with your hand raised in victory.
I"m going to teach you a valuable lesson that you'll never forget, and in the long run?
You'll thank me for it.
